UF Tobacco Free

Jan J. van der Aa

To promote the health and well-being of faculty, staff, and students, the University of Florida is tobacco-free. The use of cigarettes or other tobacco products in UF buildings, parking lots, or in vehicles in these areas is prohibited. UF's Health Science Center and Shands HealthCare facilities had introduced this policy earlier.

Tobacco dependence is our nation' s most preventable cause of death and disease, including cancer. If you would like to kick the habit, help is available! A Web site has been created to point employees to a number of resources designed to assist them and their loved ones to stop smoking. Please visit the site today for information about counseling services, self-help materials, and medicines to help smokers quit successfully.
