Parking and Shuttle Information
Health Science Center and Shands Parking/Shuttles
Patients and visitors can park in the garages just east (Garage #10) and west (Garage #3) of the complex. There is a $3 per day parking fee on weekdays from 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Parking is free on weeknights, weekends and holidays. During these times, visitors and patients may park in the garage located across from the Shands Emergency Center, east of the complex.

The Visitor Parking Shuttle is a free service for patients and visitors of Shands Hospital and the UF's Shands Clinics. The shuttle operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The handicapped-accessible shuttles depart from the top of the parking garage about every 10 minutes and will deliver you to the main entrance of Shands Hospital or the west entrance of UF's Shands Clinic at the Dental Sciences Building.
On request, the shuttle will stop at the Shands Emergency Center.
Cancer Center Shuttle
The Cancer Center Shuttle is a free service for patients and visitors of Shands Hospital and the UF's Shands Clinics. The Shuttle operates Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and leaves each stop about every 10 minutes. The route starts at the Cancer Center main entrance. It then makes stops at the Winn Dixie/Hope Lodge and the main entrance of the hospital.
On request, the shuttle will stop at the Ronald McDonald house and visitor parking garage.
Valet Parking
Valet parking is available in the Shands Hospital main entrance circle. The cost of the service is $4 for the day. Vehicles with a handicapped sticker cost $2.
Handicapped Access
Vehicles with state-issued handicapped parking permits are granted free parking spaces located in the parking lot next to the west entrance of the Health Science Center complex and in the visitor and patient parking garages. If you do not have a state issued permit and need a temporary permit, you may get a special permit from one of the information centers. Stop by or call 352-395-0005 or 395-0110.
Wheelchairs are free for patients and visitors. To reserve a wheelchair, please call the West Information Center, at 395-0005 at least one hour before your arrival.
Extended Stay
If your care requires you to stay several days, visit one of the information centers and ask for long term parking permit, which allows you free parking in the commuter lot during your extended stay.
Oversized or recreational vehicles may be parked in the metered lot north of the West Parking Garages.
Restricted Parking
Be careful not to park in any of the area that is indicated as staff or restricted parking. Many of these areas require decals. Without the appropriate decal, you are subject to fines by the UF Police Department. Also, please do not park in the circle drive at the front entrance to Shands Hospital. You may use this drive only to drop off or pick up passengers.
